Pre-event Workshops and Demo added to 2019 Energy Drone & Robotics Summit
Houston, Texas, May 21, 2019 – The Energy Drone & Robotics Summit, taking place June 12-13 in Houston, Texas at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott, has added two new workshops and a Flyability Elios 2 demo day prior to the start of the Summit & Expo, on June 10 – 11.
As more energy and engineering companies adopt UAS flight programs, the need for additional training, systems, and technology have increasingly grown. As a result, the Summit wanted to include a deeper level of programming for attendees to make an immediate impact within their organization’s UAV operations.
The two additional workshops and demo are as follows:
FlightSafety International will be providing their highly regarded 2-day workshop, Safety Management System (SMS) for UAS Operations on June 10 and 11. This course provides an overall understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and includes a certificate of completion after passing an examination. Curriculum includes:
- Benefits of a Safety Management System (SMS)
- The four components of an SMS
- The roles and responsibilities in an SMS
- The importance of a positive safety culture
The second workshop has sold out the past 2 years at the Summit. Launching & Scaling Your Industrial UAV Program provides the latest and comprehensive information on launching and growing a UAV program for energy & engineering operations. Participants will learn from successful real-world energy UAV programs that are actively working as outsourced, in-house or hybrid models and discusses the benefits of each.
For the first time in Houston, Flyability will be hosting a demonstration of Elios 2, the new gold standard in robotics inspection for confined spaces. Participants will receive a unique opportunity to get hands-on with the Elios 2 and discover its abilities for indoor drone inspections in their organizations.
“This is a very exciting time for the UAV community in energy and engineering,” said Sean Guerre, Director, Energy Drone & Robotics Coalition, powered by InnovateEnergy, “and to have these well regarded and brand new launches happening in conjunction with our Summit showcases the importance of bringing the whole community together in Houston this June.”
