Stranger Things Season 3 Renewal Confirmed
Now that Stranger Things season 2 is finally here, it’s worth pointing out that Stranger Things Season 3 is already confirmed, and will probably run beyond that. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed that Netflix has already greenlit Stranger Things Season 3. They also revealed that there will likely be a fourth season that will probably be the show’s last.
“We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out,” Ross told New York Magazine. “We just have to keep adjusting the story,” said Matt. “Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”
It’s true, after three straight years of monsters invading the town of Hawkins, Indiana, it might be time for the characters to pitch their tents elsewhere. “They’re going to have to get the fuck out of this town!” said Ross. “It’s ridiculous!”
Stranger Things Season 3 News
Stranger Things Season 3 has been officially renewed by Netflix.
The news won’t exactly blow anyone’s minds, considering that the show has become a certified pop culture phenomenon that has elevated itself and the aggregate of the streaming giant’s original content lineup into the stratosphere. Yet, the official confirmation of Season 3 and only Season 3 may be telling, since there had been rumblings in the past that Netflix was contemplating filming back-to-back seasons to negate the power of puberty over its young primary cast.
While Netflix is notorious for keeping its viewership numbers a secret, Nielsen estimated that Stranger Things Season 2 brought in 15.8 million viewers in the U.S. in the first three days after its October 27 premiere.
As for what Stranger Things Season 3 might look like? At the Vulture Festival, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, shared, “I have I have my idea that we [do a] crossover with Hamilton.” With all the pop-culture references in Stranger Things, we wouldn’t put it past them.
Stranger Things Season 3 Release Date
It wasn’t revealed if Stranger Things Season 3 would arrive in October of 2018, but that’s what we’re hoping for!
