Henry Brogan finds himself the target of a mysterious operative. Himself an elite assassin, he is shocked to find the operative anticipates his every move. The two mirror each other nearly perfectly until it is discovered that the hunter is a young clone of himself.
Both the hunter and the target struggle with this new truth and what it means to their identities and missions. Why is the clone tasked with killing Henry? Who had the power to do such a thing? What do they do now?
