Game Over, Man! Trailer: The Workaholics Tackle Terrorists in Netflix Movie

Loading

Netflix is going to get torqued.

The creators of the Comedy Central smash series, Workaholics, have reunited for a Netflix feature that combines the “terrorists taking hostages in a building” dynamic of Die Hard with… well, Workaholics

While the series permanently wrapped things up last year, this movie represents a quick turnaround, since the gang are bringing their not-safe-for-work antics to a project whose initial description could be summarized as Die Hard in a hotel”. Indeed, the film’s first trailer pretty much verifies that idea.

Game Over, Man! Trailer

In the Game Over, Man! trailer, we witness video game creators in Alexx (Adam Devine), Darren (Anders Holm) and Joel (Blake Anderson) making an absurdly ill-timed arrival at a Los Angeles hotel for a meet with their would-be financier. Indeed, a group of terrorists led by Conrad Drothers (Neal McDonough) abruptly takes over the building and starts holding everyone hostage, with the exception of our wayward trio. Thus, after gathering up the appropriate amount of courage and channeling their inner Private Hudson from Aliens (which might not be a good thing), the bumbling buddies concoct a plan to give the gun-toting asshats a healthy helping of yippee-ki-yay, mother… you know the rest.

Game Over, Man Details

Appropriately, former Workaholics director Kyle Newacheck is the man behind the camera for this movie. He works off a script by co-star Anders Holm.

Seth Rogen and Scott Rudin will be co-producing for Rudin Productions with Point Grey’s Evan Goldberg, Eli Bush and James Weaver. The quartet of Devine, Holm, Anderson and Newachek, aka Mail Order Comedy, will also be producing alongside Avalon Management’s Isaac Horne. Newachek will be directing off a script written by Holm and brainstormed by all four cube mates. No word on whether Rogen will make an appearance onscreen, though in one episode he did share the Workaholics cubicle for an interview that involved the unzipping of pants. We’re hoping for at least a cameo.

Game Over, Man Release Date

Game Over, Man! will make its debut streaming on Netflix on March 23.
