Daredevil Season 3 Potential Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Story, and Everything Else We Know

This article contains spoilers for The Defenders. Beware!

Daredevil Season 3 was officially confirmed back in 2016, not that there was really much doubt that this was going to happen. Of course, there isn’t a ton of news to report just yet, but here’s the little bit that we do know…

Daredevil Season 3 Story

So what does the ending of The Defenders mean for Daredevil Season 3? Quite a bit. For one thing, Matt’s going to have a much harder time trying to keep his identity secret since he disappeared at the same time as Daredevil. But more importantly, the introduction of the mysterious Sister Maggie would seem to be the first seed planted for the show to eventually reach what should be its natural crescendo: the classic Frank Miller/David Mazzucchelli story, Born Again.

We’ll be keeping a careful eye on this for further developments.

Daredevil Season 3 Release Date

Daredevil Season 3 won’t happen until after The Defenders, so it will certainly be 2018 before we get them. The Defenders is due on August 18, and The Punisher is in post-production (we expect we’ll see that before the end of the year, too).

Jessica Jones Season 2 is now filming in NYC, which makes that the most likely candidate for the traditional March/early Spring Marvel/Netflix launch of 2018. Luke Cage Season 2 will start filming in June. So what about Daredevil Season 3?

The latest report (courtesy of MCU Exchange) is that Daredevil Season 3 will go into production in late October. This makes perfect sense, as it’s right when The Defenders kicked off filming last year, too. With a late October start date, then we expect this will arrive in Summer of 2018.

Daredevil Season 3 Villain

We fully expect Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk to show up, but that hasn’t been confirmed. It does sound like he expects to be there, though, which is great news.

Mr. D’Onofrio told Collider that he will “eventually” return to Marvel. “I know he will come back, I just don’t know when,” he said. “I can’t wait to find out. I’m totally into the Marvel stuff, big time. I want to do Marvel, all the time. I love it so much ‘cause they’re so creative over there. They let you bring this whole new thing to an iconic thing that they invented. It’s just so much fun. I love it to death.”

One thing we know, though, is that Fisk won’t be on The Defenders.

Charlie Cox still really wants us to get Bullseye on Daredevil Season 3. “It’s no secret,” he told a crowd at Wizard World Pittsburgh back in October. “I’ve said it before and I get in trouble every time I say it, I’d like to see Bullseye make an appearance at some point. I think it’s a really interesting opportunity.”

He also joked that certain members of the cast certainly do not want to see Bullseye appear for spoiler-y reasons.

This adds to comments Charlie Cox made to ScreenRant last yearabout the character. “I can’t imagine doing a run of Daredevil where Bullseye doesn’t show up at some point,” Cox said.

Daredevil Season 3 Bullseye

Seriously. They have to give us Bullseye this time around, right? They’ve made us wait long enough. But they need to get somebody perfect for the role. Jason Statham springs to mind…

Daredevil Season 3 Cast

Expect everyone who survived season two to return for a third season, and as you’ll see below, Vincent D’Onofrio is likely to appear again. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is a natural to expect, as well. And maybe we’ll get some guest slots from Mike Colter as Luke Cage or Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones!

We’ll update this with more official information as we get it!
