Miss Fisher Season 4: Will There Be Another Season?
Miss Fisher Season 4… will it happen? We’ve been waiting on news about a potential fourth season of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, the highly addictive Australian drama about a 1920s lady detective for ages now. The feminist Sherlockian drama is a cult hit on Netflix. You probably know at least one person who has watched it — especially if you hang out with some ladies.
So what are the odds of a Season 4? Not actually that good, but there’s other, good news to soften the blow…
Firstly, there is a Miss Fisher movie, called Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears, that has already wrapped production and will hopefully come out sometime this year. Second, there is a Miss Fisher spin-off coming to Australian TV, and it looks pretty great.
The show is called Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries and it follows Phyrne Fisher’s niece, Peregrine Fisher (played by Geraldine Hakewill), in the 1960s. From the looks of the trailer, Peregrine inherits her aunt’s money and house when Phyrne goes missing and is presumed dead. In typical Fisher fashion, Peregrine decides to become a detective just like her aunt.
Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries seems to be following a very similar formula to its predecessor, with Joel Jackson starring as the handsome Detective James Steed. Catherine McClements also stars as Birdie, a friend of Phryne’s who is committed to ensuring Phryne’s legacy and will no doubt serve as a mentor to Peregrine.
Check out the trailer…
Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries will be a series of four television movies airing on Australian channel Seven Network. More news on if and where it will be available to American audiences as we hear it.
