Voltron Season 5: Everything We Know
While Voltron Legendary Defender season 4 ended on a major cliffhanger, we know the defender of the universe will be back for more soon. While Voltron Season 5 hasn’t been officially announced Studio Mir, the company that animates the series, has previously reported the series will have 78 episodes in total.
With season four behind us the series has now reached 39 episodes (counting the premiere movie has three episodes). That leaves us with 39 more episodes to go to fill out the intial order for episodes. The series is only halfway done!
We currently aren’t sure how many episodes Voltron Season 5 will contain, although co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery commented at San Diego Comic-Con they won’t be going back to the full 13 episode seasons like they had in seasons 1 and 2.
Voltron Season 5 Release Date
With the start of season 3 Voltron started releasing episodes in smaller chunks than seasons 1 and 2 (both released 13 episodes each). This is what lead to the shorter wait time between season 3 and 4 (two months) instead of the seven months that were between seasons 1 and 2. This makes predicting the Voltron season 5 release date tricky.
We highly doubt it’ll be another two months but perhaps by January we might see a new season? If the original season 3 (which was later split up into season 3 and 4) was always supposed to drop in August then perhaps we’ll see season 5 around the same time season 2 was released earlier this year, in January. Maybe even March, if we account for the seven month gap between seasons one and two.
That’s just a guess, so stay tuned to Den of Geek for more.
