6 Underground – Copyright. Skydance Media, Bay Films and Maximum Effort

Michael Bay and Ryan Reynolds are teaming up for the blockbuster movie, 6 Underground, coming to Netflix by the end of 2019. Here’s everything you need to know about the movie including who’s starring, what it’s about and all the details from set.

6 Underground is one of two massive movies has lined up for the Christmas period this year. It will release around the same time as Netflix’s The Irishman by Martin Scorcese although this particular title has a budget much bigger. It’s aiming to replicate the success of Bright from a couple of years ago in terms of budget and audience.

What’s the movie 6 Underground about?

The movie is an action thriller that is about six billionaires forming an elite vigilante squad after they fake their deaths.

Think of it a bit like The Italian Job mixed with Bad Boys and The Fast and Furious.

Netflix only has one tag for the movie so far and that’s “exciting”.

The movie was first announced in May 2018 and began filming soon after. It comes from the same studio that produced Altered Carbon and Grace and Frankie for Netflix.

Who’s directing 6 Underground for Netflix?

The king of explosions takes the reign of 6 Underground and we’re of course referring to Michael Bay. The sometimes controversial director has an impressive back library with the Transformers library being the obvious go-to but also has had a hand in titles like Bad Boys, Armageddon, and The Purge.

Who’s starring in 6 Underground on Netflix?

The main star of the movie is undoubtedly Ryan Reynolds. Netflix is reportedly paying the star $27 million for his appearance in this title which makes him one of the highest-paid actors in 2019.

Ryan Reynolds also shared one of the best behind the scenes videos ever. In his true Ryan Reynolds whit, he was talking about how peaceful Italy is while chaos ensues in the background.

Among the other cast members for 6 Underground include:

  • Adria Arjona (Pacific Rift, Good Omens)
  • Mélanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds, Now You See Me)
  • Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody, Eastenders)
  • Dave Franco (Neighbors, Now You See Me)
  • Sebastian Roché (The Man In The High Castle, The Young Pope)
  • Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, BlacKkKlansman)

None of the roles of the characters have been revealed yet but all of the names featured above will likely be the six billionaires.

We’ve also had some on-set photos with some of the cast members:

Where was Six Underground filmed?

Filming took place in three different countries with those being the United States specifically California. Lots of filming took place in Italy with Rome, Puglia, and Tuscany all listed as filming locations. Finally, some of the filming took place in the United Arab Emirates.

The filming for Six Underground actually wrapped up in December 2018. That means Netflix has been specifically lining this movie up for the winter of 2019 for quite some time.

You can see some of the fast-paced car scenes taking place in Florence, Italy. The filming looks to have taken place in Italy throughout the last few months of 2018.

Thanks to the production being on the streets of Itlay there are literally hundreds of snaps available on social media that people managed to snap during the filming in 2018.

When will 6 Underground be on Netflix?

6 Underground is now scheduled to arrive on Netflix worldwide on December 13th, 2019.

If the worldwide wasn’t a hint, then we’ll say it flatly that 6 Underground is going to be available to all regions with Netflix.

Everything else we know about 6 Underground

  • It’s been shot in 4K so expect the explosions and car sequences to be extra crisp
  • It is Michael Bay’s first movie for any streaming service
  • The movie had a giant budget of $150 million making it the most expensive in Netflix’s history. Its previous records were with The Irishman ($120M) and Bright ($90-$100M)

Anne with an E – CBC / Netflix

Anne with an E is returning to Netflix for a third season and if you’re looking for what you can expect from season 3, when it’ll be on Netflix and more, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s what we know about season 3 of Anne with an E.

Just in case you haven’t been keeping up with the show, here’s a little recap so far. Anne with an E is a period drama show based on the early 1900s novel called Anne of Green Gables. The show is known on Netflix as Anne with an E but has also been simply referred to as Anne too. The show is loosely based on the novels while also taking its own initiative to modernize the story and adapt it for a new generation.

Reviews for the first two seasons have been relatively mixed with some wishing it’d have stuck to the books more closely while others have praised some of the directions the show has taken.

It’s important to note that Anne with an E isn’t quite a full Netflix Original. Instead, Netflix owns the international distribution rights to the show.

The third season was announced in August 2018 before CBC had aired season 3 but slightly after Netflix had dropped it onto the streaming service.

Anne with an E renewed for season 3

When will season 2 of Anne with an E be on Netflix Canada?

If you reside in Canada, you’ve been waiting for the latest season of Anne with an E for quite some time. The first season dropped onto Netflix Canada back in January 2018 and we’re not expecting season 2 to drop until closer to the time season 3 begins airing.

What to expect from season 3 of Anne with an E

*Caution: spoilers for the book and series below*

The series has been following the books relatively well thus far. We’re getting towards the end of the first book however with the third season.

This season, Anne will be turning 16 years old so Anne will be slowly becoming a woman dealing with all that doing so entails such as relationships and new discoveries. In addition, Anne is looking to learn more about her birth parents this season too.

Anne with an E season 2 – Netflix

The series will also introduce its first “Indigenous storyline” and characters (as we’ll come onto in a bit) with the town of Green Gables interacting with a camp of the Mi’kmaq nation.

In the original announcement of the third season, it was said that “Season three of the series will introduce characters and stories that will tackle issues including identity, feminism, bullying and gender parity. ”

Some have predicted a big death upcoming in season 3 with Ruby potentially facing a tragic end. Many adaptations in the past have left out some of the more gruesome deaths from their adaptations.

Who’s returning for season 3 of Anne with an E?

Much of the main cast has been confirmed to be returning for the third season. These include Amybeth McNulty, Geraldine James, R. H. Thomson, Dalila Bela, Corrine Koslo, Lucas Jade Zumann, Aymeric Jett Montaz, Dalmar Abuzeid, Cara Ricketts, Joanna Douglas, Kyla Matthews, Cory Grüter-Andrew, and Miranda McKeon. Directors Norma Bailey, Paul Fox, Amanda Tapping, and Anne Wheeler.

The major casting announcements so far have been Kiawenti:io Tarbell joining the cast and also Brandon Oakes has also been confirmed to join this season too.

Thanks to some IMDb updates, we also know some other cast and crew that are either debuting or returning.

The two composers of the show, Ari Posner and Amin Bhatia are returning for season 3. Jane Maggs is confirmed to be returning as a writer and producer.

Where is Anne with an E season 3 in production?

Current production status: Finished (last updated: September 2019)

Principal photography which refers to the bulk of the shooting of the show began back in March 2019. That’s also when the new cast members (see below) were announced too.

On March 4th, Moira Walley-Beckett revealed the first draft of episode 301.

In March on International Women’s Day, Moria Walley-Beckett took to Instagram to celebrate the day with her all-female production team working on season 3. On Instagram, Moira captioned the picture with: “Proud to be working side by side with my all-female production team for Anne with an E!”

When will season 3 of Anne with an E be on Netflix?

Although there’s been nothing official, it is expected that season 3 will be releasing in the final three months of 2019.

The series is set to air in Canada on September 22nd, 2019 and run, as we mentioned above, for 10 episodes. That means the series is due to wrap in late November. We did initially expect the series to either arrive on Netflix in either November or December. In September 2019, however, Netflix revealed that the new series would be coming to Netflix on January 3rd, 2019.

Previous seasons have dropped on Netflix before its CBC airdate although the title remains absent from the September 2019 releases list meaning we’re expecting it to come after its initial run through.

On Netflix itself, it doesn’t give anything away from other than that season 3 is confirmed and is on the way.

    Disenchantment 12

    Disenchantment – The Ululu Company

Disenchantment will return to Netflix for part 2 in September 2019. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming season including how many episodes there’ll be, what we’re expecting, release dates and more.

If this is the first time you’re hearing of Disenchantment then take this opportunity to go and watch the first 10 episodes now on Netflix.

Released last year in August 2018, Disenchantment was Matt Groening’s first big Netflix project. It rewinds the clock and takes us back to the medieval times and although there are some crossovers with Futurama it’s a brand new IP with all new characters. We follow Bean who wants to break away from her princess role and go on adventures and does so with a half-elf named Elfo and a Luci, a demon.

Reviews from critics weren’t the best for the series but audiences scores have fared better. As of March 2019, the series sits at a 7.2 on IMDb, 64% on Rotten Tomatoes and 56 on Metacritic.

    Disenchantment 13

    Review scores for Disenchantment

Before we begin, it’s important to distinguish the difference between part 2 and season 2. Netflix sometimes splits up its shows into two halves and that’s the case for Disenchantment. Season 1 consists of two parts with 10 episodes apiece.

What will happen in part 2 of Disenchantment?

    Caution: spoilers below

The series ended with Dreamland being essentially frozen over, Beane being taken to a foreign land accompanied by her mother and Luci likely being kidnapped or assassinated.

After the credits for episode 10 rolled, we saw Elfo washed up on a beach but picked up by what is rumored to be mermaids. Elfo discovered a little more about his past in part 1 of the show with it being revealed he’s only half-elf. Given how prominent magic features in the show some have predicted that in one way or another Elfo (voiced by Nat Faxon) is going to be revived in one way or another.

That’s not to say that characters will be around forever, though. Matt Groening has said: “very excited to continue this great journey with Netflix. Stay tuned for more cranked-up suspense, thrilling plot twists and beloved characters getting knocked off.”

    Disenchantment 14

    Courtesy of Netflix

Beyond just the main storyline, there’s a lot of other things that need to be answered about the universe. Josh Strangehill who works on the series has teased that all will be revealed in the future. Many have speculated this character seen below is somehow related to the actual race of Elfo.

Who will be returning for part 2 of Disenchantment?

    Disenchantment 15

Ted Sarandos, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, David Herman, Nat Faxon, Eric Andre, Matt Groening, and Cindy Holland

The first part of Disenchantment featured some fantastic talent of which most will be returning for part 2.

    • Abbi Jacobson as Bean
    • Sharon Horgan as Queen Dagmar
    • John DiMaggio as King Zøg
    • Eric Andre as Luci
    • Tress MacNeille as Queen Oona
    • Matt Berry as Prince Merkimer
    • Lucy Montgomery as Bunty
    • David Herman as The Herald and others

Robin Atkin Downes has also been confirmed on the IMDb page to be returning to be doing some of the additional voices for the show.

Beyond the cast, music for the series will once again be provided by Mark Mothersbaugh who before Disenchantment provided music for Thor: Ragnarok, The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street.

How many episodes will there be in Disenchantment part 2?

Once again, there are confirmed to be 10 new episodes which vary in length that will round out season 1 of Disenchantment.

When will part 2 of Disenchantment be on Netflix?

On May 16th, 2019 it was announced that part 2 of Disenchantment would be coming to Netflix slightly later than expected in September 2019.

The show will be returning on a Friday.

Up until the announcement we were expecting the show to arrive a year after part 1 did. Netflix has up until now held a release date on the show’s page saying part 2 would arrive in 2019.

    Disenchantment 16

    Disenchantment part 2 release

Will there be more episodes after part 2 of Disenchantment?

Yes! Only a handful of shows have managed to gain multi-season orders from Netflix and in October 2018 Disenchantment joined the list.

When we first looked at part 2 of Disenchantment we highlighted an interview with Matt Groening (the creator of the series) who said that longevity is the key to his shows. This would imply that the show is intended for a long span on Netflix.

Right now, Netflix has confirmed there’s going to be two full seasons of Disenchantment coming. Season 2 has been confirmed to also be 20 episodes split into two parts again.

On the renewal, Netflix said: “We’re excited to continue this epic journey with Netflix. Stay tuned for more cranked-up suspense, infuriating plot twists and beloved characters getting knocked off.”

We now know that new episodes of Disenchantment will be coming out in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Here’s how that release schedule pans out in our minds over the next few years.

    Season Part Release Date
    Season 1 Part 1 August 2018
    Season 1 Part 2 2019
    Season 2 Part 3 2020
    Season 2 Part 4 2021

    Other Disenchantment News

    • Expect merchandise for the show soon as Rocket Licensing has been named as the UK licensing agency. In the report, it says: “include apparel, accessories, and collectibles for adults.” Funko will create figures for the show and Kidrobot are said to be creating figures, keychains, and plushes.

The popular British comedy series Derry Girls has already aired its second season in the UK and has now been given its Netflix international release date. Here’s what you need to know about season 2 of Derry Girls coming to Netflix on August 2nd, 2019.

The highly-rated comedy comes from Northern Ireland and is written by Lisa McGee and explores a group of friends growing up in an all-girls Catholic girls school.

Netflix first picked up Derry Girls last year and distributes it as a Netflix Original in the majority of regions. The United Kingdom doesn’t see it as an Original title but does have the show streaming.

Once again, six episodes make up season 2 of Derry Girls.  Season 2 kicks off with the girls attending an outdoor pursuits weekend. We also see the girls hoping to see Take That in Belfast, a 50s style prom and a Christmas episode.

Season 2 ran on channel 4 in the UK between March and April 2019.

A busy August is expected on Netflix with Ask the Storybots S3 arriving on the same day as Derry Girls S2 as well as big titles returning throughout the month including Mindhunter and GLOW.

When will Netflix UK get Derry Girls season 2?

Netflix UK won’t be getting the next season of Derry Girls in August. Season 1 is due to release on Netflix UK in July 2019 and we probably shouldn’t expect season 2 to arrive until at least 2020.

When will season 3 of Derry Girls be on Netflix?

We’ve got good news regarding the future of Derry Girls on Netflix too. Season 3 has already been commissioned and although no release date has been announced yet, its easy to make an assumption it should be available sometime in 2020.

Are you looking forward to watching season 2 of Derry Girls coming to Netflix on August 2nd? Let us know in the comments down below.

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee (Season 11) – Courtesy of Netflix

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has returned for its second outing on Netflix in July 2019 but will be its eleventh season overall. Jerry Seinfeld has secured some top talent across the 11 and we’re going to take you through all of the new episodes and who’s appearing.

The show that originally appeared on the now semi-defunct Sony Crackle was picked up by Netflix last year. It’s among the few talk-shows on Netflix with only My Next Guest Needs No Introduction by David Letterman being the only direct comparison.

Season 11 released on Netflix on July 19th, 2019 and will see a familiar format with Jerry picking up comedians and celebrities in a different car each week and discuss all manner of subjects including their careers, what’s generally going on and life.

Who’s featuring in season 11 of ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’?

Season 11 features possibly one of the biggest lineups for the show yet.

Here’s the full list of who’s appearing in the new season and how many times they’ve featured on the show before:

    • Eddie Murphy (debut appearance) known for his massive movie library including the likes of The Nutty Professor, Dream Girls, Shrek and Coming to Ameria
    • Seth Rogen (debut appearance) known for movies like This is The End, Superbad, Pineapple Express and Knocked Up
    • Ricky Gervais (featured in season 1) known for stand-up and his Netflix series After Life and sitcoms like The Office and Extras
    • Matthew Broderick (debut appearance) known for his early role as Ferris Bueller but also starred in The Producers and WarGames.
    • Jamie Foxx (debut appearance) is probably the lesser-known comedian among this years lineup. He’s known for his movies such as Django Unchained, Baby Driver and Ray.
    • Sebastian Maniscalco (featured in season 7) known for stand-up but has featured in movies like Green Book, Tag and The House.
    • Mario Joyner (featured in season 1 & 4) and will become joint first with Jimmy Fallon in the number of appearances on the show. Known for Pootie Tang, Just Go With It and 3 Men and a Baby
    • Melissa Villaseñor (debut appearance) is mainly known for her current stint on SNL but her voices were featured on Ralph Breaks the Internet and OK K.O!
    • Bridget Everett (debut appearance) has had multiple roles beyond her stand-up including Patti Cake$, Little Evil, and Trainwreck.
    • Barry Marder (featured in season 1) is mainly known for writing including on Jerry’s own animated hit, Bee Movie.

What cars are going to be in season 11?

Thanks to some pictures released by Netflix we can expect a wide range of cars featured. We’re not car experts but we have managed to identify a few of the vehicles featured.

In the episode featuring Sebastian Maniscalco, we can even see Jerry ditching cars altogether in favor of perusing around on a couple of mopeds.

    19

Jerry Seinfeld, Sebastian Maniscalco on mopeds season 11

In the episode with Barry Marder, it looks like it’s a Porsche 356B. Seth Rogen’s episode will feature a classic American muscle car which we believe is a Ford Gran Torino.

In the Eddie Murphy episode, we believe they’re driving a Porsche Carrera and Mario Joyner episode we believe they’re driving a VW Kubelwagen which translates to bucket car.

All of the previous seasons of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee can be found on Netflix right now.

Before we depart, here are a few more stills from the production of season 11.

It wasn’t until a year later that Raquel received a postcard with co-ordinates leading her to reunite with the professor.

Speaking to FormulaTV Jesús Colmenar, one of the producers gave us insights into part 3. “The Professor ended up in Palawan, in the Philippines, and I would like to think that he is not a flashy guy and that he lives a normal life there. He took all this money more as a blow to the system than for personal enjoyment,”.

With the amount of money stolen by the team and the professor, there will be an international manhunt for every person involved in the heist.

Assuming not all members of the heist are particularly good at hiding their newfound wealth it won’t be long before the authorities come knocking, ready to take back all that cash.

When one domino falls so will the others, so with all the members potentially being hunted by the Spanish authorities, it can be expected that most of the season may become a cat and mouse game between the heist team and those who wish to bring them to justice.

    Disenchantment – The Ululu Company

Disenchantment will soon be returning for more episodes in 2019 with its second half of season 1.

    31

    33

    • Episode 15 or part 2 episode 5 has had a description uploaded to IMDb and says: “While Bean and Brick has involved in ventures, they go searching for the rescue of Zane. When bad things can go wrong. When Queen Dorgamon has envolved for Zog. He and his people will search out before the ritual starts.” – Brick looks to be a brand new character for 2019.
    • Luci appeared in a recent episode of The Simpsons in a Treehouse of Horrors episode:

There you have it. Everything we know about Disenchantment part 2. We’ve got more on all the upcoming animated shows here and if you’re looking for The Simpsons or Futurama on Netflix in the meantime, you’re going to be out of luck.
