iPhone 12 pre-orders are now live and we’re seeing a wide range of iPhone 12 deals on Apple’s new phones.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are available for pre-order starting today (Oct. 16) with the phones arriving in stores on Oct. 23. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will go on sale Nov. 13 with pre-orders starting on Nov. 6. However, those dates aren’t stopping carriers from offering iPhone 12 deals right now.
Currently, one of our favorite iPhone 12 deals comes courtesy of Verizon. Switch to Verizon and you’ll get the iPhone 12 for free. You’ll need to sign up for an Unlimited plan and trade-in an eligible phone. Otherwise, that’s a savings of $799 and one of the best iPhone 12 deals you’ll find. Likewise, Verizon has the iPhone 12 Pro for free via the same guidelines.
It’s worth noting that iPhone 12 inventory is rapidly selling out. Certain models of the iPhone 12 Pro in particular are already seeing a shipping delays that push the phone’s delivery into November.
During Apple’s iPhone 12 event, Verizon announced it would cut the cost on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini when you trade in an iPhone X or later and buy your phone on an installment plan. And Xfinity Mobile, which offers service on Verizon’s network for Xfinity customers, as well as T-Mobile, have compelling iPhone 12 deals of their own. The new iPhone 12 sports a faster A14 Bionic processor, 5G connectivity, and updated cameras. It also has a new Ceramic Shield glass display that Apple claims is the toughest in the industry. There’s also a new MagSafe charging system.
The iPhone 12 features a 12MP wide lens with a f/1.6 aperture and a 12MP ultra-wide lens with a f/2.4 aperture and 120-degree field of view. It’s the first iPhone to include Apple’s new 7-element lens, which delivers low light performance. Apple has also added a new Night Mode Time-lapse feature.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 mini is a compact version of the iPhone 12. It sports a 5.4-inch OLED display and the same A14 Bionic CPU found inside the standard iPhone 12. However, its costs $699, which is $100 less than the 6.1-inch iPhone 12.
The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are the successors to the iPhone 11 Pro models. They feature larger screens — 6.1 inches for the Pr and 6.7 inches for the Pro Max — plus triple camera arrays aided by a LiDAR sensor. Otherwise, they share the same processor, 5G connectivity and charging features as the iPhone 12.
Best UK iPhone 12 pre-order deals
Unlike the US, it’s not currently possible to pre-order the iPhone 12 with any of the UK networks. Instead they all seem to be offering the chance to “pre-register”, which is just a fancy way of saying you can get them to email you as soon as pre-orders are actually open.
You don’t need to add yourself to their mailing lists, though, because we already know when you can pre-order the iPhone 12 in the UK.
All the networks (and Apple) agree that you’ll be able to pre-order the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro on October 16. However EE , Sky, and Vodafone have also revealed that those pre-orders start at 1pm. So in other words, while we don’t have any contract prices right now we know exactly when we’re going to get them. Presumably we will also find out how generous the networks are being with their trade-in bonuses at the same time.
Right now all the major names have committed to stocking the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, including Carphone Warehouse, EE, O2, Sky Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Three, Virgin, and Vodafone. The only big name that hasn’t so far is giffgaff, though we expect that to change before Friday.
