What’s new on Amazon Prime Video in October 2020

Welcome to the Blumhouse

Amazon is doing its part to serve the needs of your Halloween movie marathon with a quartet of original films co-produced by horror studio Blumhouse Productions that arrive on the streaming service throughout the month. The anthology series features an impressive cast of names both behind the camera and in front of it, with each film offering a different, terrifying spin on the same theme: Family.

The four films include The Lie, exploring how far a family will go to hide a terrible secret; Black Box, which follows a single father whose experimental therapy has his questioning reality; Nocturne, a twisted tale set at an elite school for music where twin sisters compete for attention; and Evil Eye, in which a mother begins to fear her daughter’s new boyfriend has a dark connection to her past.

Truth Seekers

Frequent collaborators Nick Frost and Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for another adventure in the horror genre with this series they co-created with James Serafinowicz and Nat Saunders. This time around, the pair play a group of part-time paranormal investigators in the U.K. whose latest set of cases hint at a dark, far-reaching conspiracy that could bring an end to the world as they know it. The pair are joined in the cast by Emma D’Arcy, Samson Kayo, Malcolm McDowell, Susie Wokoma, and Julian Barratt.
