What’s new on Netflix and what’s leaving in October 2020
Netflix is adding plenty of new streaming options this month for subscribers. From award-winning original series to popular movies, Netflix has a long list of films and TV shows joining its lineup. Read on for highlights from October’s new arrivals on Netflix, as well as complete lists of what’s coming to the streaming service and what’s leaving.
October brings several noteworthy Netflix Original movies and shows to the streamer, including the next installment of The Haunting horror anthology series, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and the third and final season of animated series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. Also arriving on Netflix in October is the sixth and final season of record-setting Emmy winner Schitt’s Creek.

The Haunting of Bly Manor
Just in time for Halloween, the horror anthology series that started with 2018’s The Haunting of Hill House returns with a new, terrifying tale. This time around, series creator and director Mike Flanagan puts a modern spin on Henry James’ 1898 tale The Turn of the Screw. Several cast members from Hill House will return in new roles for Bly Manor, which follows a young woman hired to care for a pair of children at a secluded family estate.
Schitt’s Creek, Season 6
Father-and-son duo Dan and Eugene Levy created and star in this Canadian sitcom about a formerly wealthy family that’s forced to move to a small town after they suddenly lose their fortune. The series blew up when the first three seasons arrived on Netflix, and quickly became one of the most popular shows on the streaming service, culminating in a record-setting night at this year’s 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards in which it swept all seven major comedy categories, including all four major acting awards. Along with Dan and Eugene Levy, co-stars Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy also took home Emmy Awards for the sixth and final season.
