GLOW Season 2 Cast, News and More

Loading

If you watched the first season of Netflix’s ’80s set wrestling comedy, GLOW, you were probably charmed by it. If you didn’t watch GLOW yet, well, what the hell are you waiting for? Its 10 episode first season was so easily devourable, and perfectly walked the line between comedy and drama, with lots of fun 1980s references and some authentic wrestling detail thrown in for good measure. GLOW Season 2 shouldn’t be a surprise.

Then again, Netflix likes to make people wait for their confirmations, and that’s what they did here. Nevertheless, GLOW Season 2 is definitely happening, and while there aren’t any details available, we expect the same incredible cast to return (seriously, could Betty Gilpin, Sydelle Noelle, Marc Maron, or Britney Young have been any more perfect?), and Netflix confirms that showrunners Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch will be back, along with executive producers Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann.

GLOW Season 2 News

Wyatt Nash joins GLOW Season 2 for a recurring role, reports Deadline. He will play Phil, a new cameraman for the late-1980s era GLOW wrestling show, whose hunky good looks has potential for disruptive drama (the unscripted kind,) within the women’s wrestling organization. That is the extent of the character details for now.

Nash is coming off run on another Netflix series, Dear White People, as well as Hallmark TV movies Like Cats & Dogs, The Bridge and The Bridge Part 2. He also fielded a brief run on Pretty Little Liars in 2013 and Hollywood Heights in 2012.

In other recent GLOW Season 2 news…

With production commencing in October, Alison Brie, who stars as actress-turned-wrestler Ruth “Zoya the Destroya” Wilder, started taking to Instagram to provide occasional updates on GLOW Season 2 in the form of a trailer photo, wearing her signature makeup and spiked hair. She is seen alongside her co-star and kayfabe frenemy in Betty Gilpin’s Debbie “Liberty Belle” Eagan, who’s already set to shoot, rocking big ‘80s hair and a luminescent onesie.

Of course, it’s not so much a revelation of details as it is a check-in with fans, letting them know that GLOW Season 2 is rolling cameras as we speak. The sophomore frame of the historically-inspired women’s wrestling dramedy series is expected to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2018. – For frame of reference, GLOW Season 1 debuted on the streaming platform on June 23, 2017.

GLOW Season 2 Release Date

Netflix didn’t mention anything about when GLOW Season 2 will premiere, but we’re hoping we get it right around the start of the summer in 2018. It’s another 10 episode order. We’ll update this with more info when we have it.
