Will The Defenders Season 2 Happen?
OK, don’t panic. Netflix hasn’t confirmed The Defenders Season 2 yet. But here’s why you shouldn’t panic. For starters, they always take their time announcing renewals, no matter how successful a show is. But more importantly, there are a lot of other Marvel Netflix shows that need to get their work done before they can get to this one. But seriously, don’t worry, Marvel always goes to a second season with their shows, so The Defenders Season 2 renewal isn’t a matter of if, just when.
Let’s break it down.
The Defenders Season 2 Release Date
We can only speculate on this at the moment, but at least it can be informed speculation. Right now, Marvel’s Netflix schedule is packed. The Punisher arrives soon. Jessica Jones Season 2 and Luke Cage Season 2 are both currently filming, and will arrive in early to mid 2018. Daredevil Season 3 goes into production in October, which means that there’s no chance The Defenders Season 2 can start filming any time before mid-2018. And don’t forget, they’ll probably make Iron Fist Season 2 before this.
In other words, it’s going to be 2019 at the earliest before we see The Defenders Season 2. Of course, if this changes, we’ll let you know.
